Dr. John Baird graduated in 1989 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and joined his father, Dr. William Baird, who had been in practice at Markham Chiropractic Centre since 1956.
In 1994, he brought the first Spinalyzer© X-ray analysis system into Ontario. He worked with developers as a beta tester implementing new impairment rating features into the system. In 2005 he brought DMX Digital Dynamic Motion X-ray system into Ontario pairing it with the first DXAnalyzer© digital radiographic analysis system. He worked with developers to implement the pixel based calibration features of the software. In 2006, Dr. Baird was granted the trademark for DMX Digital/Dynamic Motion X-ray by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and made substantial enhancements to the DMX system including DICOM implementation. In 2011, he became the first chiropractor to offer Atlas Orthogonal Adjustments in Ontario and in 2015, he co-authored a chapter in “The Craniocervical Syndrome and MRI: Observations regarding the relationship between Misalignment, Obstruction of the Cerebrospinal Fluid Flow, Cerebellar Tonsillar Ectopic, and Image-Guided Correction," with Dr. Scott Rosa. In addition to his collaborations with Dr. Rosa, he is also working with researchers at the University of Waterloo, and co-authored a paper for Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering called, “A video fluoroscopy-based tracking algorithm, for quantifying the time course of human intervertebral displacements." In 2016, Dr. Baird upgraded his X-ray Lab to include DICOM based digital radiography and Posture Ray EMR. The software allows us to offer electronic records of our patients X-ray analysis the same day they come for assessment. Markham Chiropractic Centre now has 2 Bioflex Laser systems. Dr. Fred Kahn is the creator of the Bioflex system, a retired surgeon who developed the LED Array. Dr. Norman Doidge, author of “The Brain’s Way of Healing”, dedicates a full chapter to Dr. Khan and the benefits of Bioflex Laser. At Markham Chiropractic Centre, we have developed a laser protocol to promote healing of the ligaments at the craniocervical junction. Dr. Baird continues to strive for excellence in radiographic imaging and chiropractic care. |
